Andy Garland
Andy has been part of the Harland team since 2024, following the acquisition of Paul & Maundrell Ltd, where he began his accounting career in 2021. After many years in retail, Andy brought his people skills and customer-first mindset into the accounting world, completing AAT Level 2 and progressing through his professional training.
Today, Andy supports clients across a range of industries from construction and farming to fishing, retail and media, focusing mainly on bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll. Known for his approachable nature and attention to detail, he enjoys helping clients stay organised and confident in their finances.
Outside of work, Andy is a dedicated family man and lifelong sports enthusiast. He’s also conversational in Russian, a skill that often surprises people and reflects his curiosity for learning new things.

Get to know Andy a little better …
Are you a spender or a saver?
I’m a saver, but having 6 children and a big spender for a wife, I still have absolutely nothing (apart from the true richness in life of a beautiful, healthy family)!
How do you like to relax?
I have a real passion for most things sporting. Having played rugby for nearly 30 years, I regretfully had to stop for family reasons (really, I was knackered!), but now I enjoy watching my son play, and keep up with sports on tv.
If money and time was no object, what would you be doing right now?
I could easily see myself relaxing on the back of a super yacht, taking in the sun, drinks, and enjoying the cool breeze blowing off the coast of a beautiful tropical island.
Who do you follow on social media?
I don’t tend to use social media, but if I looked at anything, it would be sports personalities.
Who is someone you admire or respect?
Richard Branson is someone who grew in stature as I was growing up, and I always admire someone who has made good of themselves from bare means, and shear determination – a real example to any young person. Not simply to be a multi millionaire but to achieve a goal that many would say is only possible to dream.

Tickets to a top sporting event, of course!
