TLDR (too long didn’t read): What you need to know
From 18 November 2025, all UK company directors and people with significant control (PSC) must verify their identity with Companies House before their next confirmation statement can be filed. Harland can complete this process for you as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) for £55 + VAT per person.
What’s changing?
As part of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, Companies House is introducing new identity verification rules for all company directors and people with significant control (PSCs).
From 18 November 2025:
- Every director and PSC must verify their identity.
- You’ll need a Companies House personal code before your next confirmation statement can be filed.
- If verification isn’t complete, your company won’t be able to submit its confirmation statement.
This change is designed to make UK companies more transparent and to help prevent fraud and misuse of company information.
How to verify your identity
You have two options:
- Do it yourself via the Companies House verification service on GOV.UK.
- Ask Harland to take care of it for you.
Harland is approved by Companies House as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), which means we can complete the process on your behalf. Our fee for this service is £55 + VAT per director or PSC. To get started, simply contact your Client Manager or email us at info@harlandaccountants.co.uk.
When you need to act
The rules come into effect on 18 November 2025, but you’ll need to make sure all directors and PSCs are verified before your next confirmation statement is due. For example, if your confirmation statement date is 31 March 2026, every director must be verified by then. We recommend completing verification early to avoid delays, particularly if you have directors or PSCs based outside the UK.
How Harland can help
We’ll ensure your verification is handled correctly, efficiently, and fully in line with the new requirements. We will:
