We’re delighted to announce that Paul & Maundrell, a respected and long-established firm of Chartered Accountants in Helston and Falmouth, has officially joined the Harland Chartered Accountants family.
This is a significant and exciting step in Harland’s journey to support even more purpose-driven businesses—those that care deeply about their people, planet and profit—across Cornwall and nationally.
A Shared Commitment to Client Care and Community
Founded in 1944, Paul & Maundrell (formerly AJ Paul) has supported Cornwall’s business community for more than 80 years. With strong roots in sectors such as agriculture, tourism and hospitality, construction, fishing and manufacturing, the firm brings with it a huge amount of expertise and experience. Harland’s Practice Director, Deborah Edwards, says the merger is a natural fit:
“What made Paul & Maundrell appealing to us is the team’s dedication to excellence in client care and their long-standing commitment to serving a hard-working business community. We’re excited to welcome the team into the Harland family and to build on the strong foundations that Colin and Simon have established over the years. In the short term, it’s very much business as usual. We’re looking forward to getting to know the team and their loyal clients, and exploring how we can support and add value as we move forward together.”

Continuity and Care Through the Transition
The acquisition sees all 10 Paul & Maundrell team members continue their work from the Helston and Falmouth offices, now joining Harland’s existing team of 15, spread across offices in Falmouth, St Austell, and Newquay.
Paul & Maundrell’s Directors, Colin Maundrell and Simon Wormington, will continue to work alongside the team over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.
“After 50 years of running Paul and Maundrell, I’m delighted that, as I take a step back, I can do so knowing the firm is in such capable hands.
When considering the future of the business, it was important to me to find a partner who shared our values — one that would continue to provide the high level of service our clients expect, while also ensuring continuity and a great working environment for our team. Harland is exactly that. I’m genuinely pleased to have found a partner whose ethos aligns so closely with ours.
I’d like to thank Harlands for making this transition such a positive experience, and to our clients for their continued trust and support. We look forward to continuing to work with you in this exciting new chapter.” – Colin Maundrell
“This marks an exciting new chapter for our team. While we’ll continue to offer the same friendly, local service our clients know and value, joining Harland opens up new opportunities to modernise, grow and respond to the changing needs of businesses in Cornwall. I’m looking forward to what we can achieve together.” – Simon Wormington
