Client Manager / Chartered ACCOUNTANT

SOPHIE CLINTON

Harland-Accountants Client Manager and Chartered Accountant, Sophie Clinton

Sophie joined Harland in 2013 straight from college where she studied A-Level Accounting, and went onto study her AAT, followed by her chartered accountant qualifications.

She is passionate about helping businesses become more efficient through the use of cloud technology, like Xero, and has trained many business owners to use this powerful software in their day-to-day life. Sophie has excellent attention to detail, particularly when it comes to book-keeping.

“An accomplishment of mine is taking a lead role in migrating a large amount of our clients to Making Tax Digital. Paving the future for how people work by providing training, advice and support, and sometimes taking care of the complete migration process.”

In her spare time, Sophie loves to keep fit walking her dog, bike riding, and aerial/pole fitness.

Get to know Sophie a little better …

Are you a spender or a saver?

I’m definitely a spender – I’m really bad at saving! If there’s something I want, I’ll just get it. I can save for big things, like holidays, but I don’t like saving just for the sake of it.

How do you like to relax?

I love watching a good crime drama, going for a spa day and having a massage, or taking my dog for a nice long walk. I also like sea swimming, keeping fit by going to the gym/pole or areal fitness, and  spending time with my family and friends.

If money and time was no object, what would you be doing right now?

I’d move to Mexico and spend my days on the beach or sun bathing on my private catamaran!

Who do you follow on social media?

Aerial, pole and gym fitness stuff

Who is someone you admire or respect?

I think Deborah Meaden is fantastic. She’s absolutely brutal in some ways, but also has a really strong ethical stand point.

And finally … how can a client butter-you-up?

Praise! Knowing that you’re appreciated and hearing when a client is happy always motivates me to go the extra mile.
